Transportation
Reaching Lagoa do Fogo is best done by car. From Ponta Delgada, take the EN1-1A towards Ribeira Grande. Follow the signs for Lagoa do Fogo. There are several viewpoints and parking areas along the road leading to the lake. From the parking areas, you can hike down to the lake. Bus line 303 from Ribeira Grande stops at Pico da Barrosa, from which you can hike down to the lake.
